01 / The challenge

Most catering businesses run on memory, Excel files and a dozen WhatsApp chats. A good quote takes hours to put together, every event starts from scratch even when it has been done ten times before, and the owner is the head, the hands and the backup all at once.

Tovanto is made for catering businesses and event operators in Israel that run roughly 15 to 80 events a year with small to mid-size teams: too busy for spreadsheets, and too specific for a generic CRM that someone has to assemble and maintain.

  • Orders spread across Excel, memory and chats
  • Hours to build an accurate quote
  • Every event starts from zero
  • The margin is a guess until the month ends

02 / What it does

One system for the whole catering business, in Hebrew: leads and a sales pipeline, quotes built on real dishes and real ingredient costs, every event from start to finish, accurate supplier orders and stock, crew and tasks, and profitability reports. The same information is there at the desk and on a phone, in real time.

My part is the system itself. I am the partner who builds it, as its lead developer and architect, and since 8 October 2026 every release to production has been mine.

03 / Highlights

01

Leads and a sales pipeline

Every enquiry, from the first call to the tasting and the quote, in one pipeline, so no lead waits in a chat.

02

Quotes on real numbers

Quotes built from real dishes and ingredient costs, so the margin is known before saying yes.

03

Events end to end

Planning, crew, equipment and payments, before, during and after each event, in one place.

04

Exact supplier orders

Orders come from the event itself: the right quantity, ordered once, with stock kept up to date.

05

Crew and tasks

Who works, what to prepare and when. The crew gets its tasks, and the owner stops being the bottleneck.

06

Profitability you can see

Planned against actual on every event, and the numbers that matter on one dashboard.

07

At the desk and on a phone

Built in Hebrew, right to left, for the office and for the floor, with the same information in both.

04 / Screens

12 screens · sample data

Design noteTovanto is Hebrew-first and right to left, in the burgundy and cream of its own logo. The screens are made for the floor as much as for the office: the event day runs on a phone.

01 The event's menu turns into supplier orders, which are then approved.
02 Pricing a deal and previewing the contract the customer receives.
03 The crew checks in on a phone on the day of the event.
04 Closing an event: what was planned next to what really happened.

Tovanto has been live with its first customer in a closed beta since October 2026.

Thanks to Itay's SEO work, in October 2026 tovanto.com was the second result in a Hebrew Google search in Israel for "catering management system", and the first system named in Google's AI summary for that search (my own search on 22 October 2026; results vary by person and by day).

06 / The partnership and my role

Itay Pizanty founded Tovanto and leads the product, sales and the SEO. He spent nearly a decade working events, from waiting tables to running a venue, and Tovanto is built from that work.

I am the partner who builds it: the lead developer and the architect. Since 8 October 2026 I have owned every release to production. I build it with Claude Code, from my own plans and under my own review.
